Waiting…

Learning for Life
3 min readFeb 1, 2022

Do you ever feel like all you do is wait? I have been doing a lot of unexplainable waiting for a couple years. A few years ago I had my dream job! I recognize how blessed I am that I got to experience that, but that opportunity ended and I was left with the “what now” and grieving a huge loss. I discovered a huge part of my identity was tied up in my profession. As with anything we grieve, the loss remains but we find ways to move on in spite of the wound.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about Learning for Life and how to proceed, if to proceed, what to do next? I wish I could say the waiting is over and I have a direction all mapped out and off I go, but that just isn’t the case. When I chose a name for my business I was very intentional. I didn’t want to be so targeted that it fit only a small niche. As you can tell from the logo, it was originally positioned to target early primary learners as that is where my expertise lies professionally. In a previous blog post I mentioned that I love learning. I think it is key for good health. So Learning for Life was born out of my desire to help others while I keep learning and growing myself.

Stepping out in Faith!

I listened to a friends video post this morning about how she feels ill-equipped for her business. That quite frankly is what I have experienced. I know what I am good at and what I have to offer. It’s the other parts that are the stumbling blocks. For me, it is the business side of the business — LOL. I have the “what’ (content and ability), it’s the “how” that is unclear for me. How do I get connected with those that I can support and help? I feel like Moses in Exodus Chapter 4 where he didn’t feel equipped to lead the Israelites. Moses made all kinds of excuses for not being obedient. So I have to ask myself, am I looking for roadblocks instead of being obedient? The Lord told Moses in verse 12, “Now go! I will be with you as you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” That is my prayer as I continue to step out in faith that God will reveal the path that He has laid out for me. I invite you on the journey with me.

I would LOVE to hear from you. You can contact me at mary.learn4life@gmail.com
