Tomorrow is an exciting day. We begin recording the interviews with the summit speakers. This is something new for me, so I am a bit nervous. I am praying that all goes well and it is an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

It’s time to introduce two women that might surprise you to be involved in an educational summit. However, if you remember the title of the event: Achieving Students Best Outcomes: Different Paths to Success! This event is truly about meeting the needs of the whole child or student. What I mean by that is, some students come to school with English being their second language and need support learning English while also learning the grade level curriculum. Other students come to school and having nutritious food to eat to fuel their brain is not the norm for them. Also, students as well as educators need to make sure they are taking care of their whole body. The two featured guests are going to tackle nutrition and health and wellness.

Dr. Delia McCabe

Delia McCabe (PhD) shifted her research focus from psychology to nutritional neuroscience, while working with underachieving students, upon discovering nutrition’s critical role in mental wellbeing. Delia’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, she runs workshops and tailored events internationally, and her two ‘Feed Your Brain’ books are available in four languages.

Dr. McCabe lives in Australia and I am so excited to have her share with us what she has learned about the importance of nutritional neuroscience.

Julie Sweet

Julie Sweet has spent her life inspiring her students to live a life of well-being and happiness through horses, working mostly with youth as a international CHA master riding instructor, clinician and business woman. She grew a very large organization in the equestrian community with a focus on fun, progress and safety.

Julie has branched out in her professional life and now works as a certified IIN health coach specializing in gut health. Blending her love of horses and community together with her passion for health and wellness has come naturally to Julie as she discovered this passion for helping people feel their best. Julie lives on a family farm with her husband and two sons, her agricultural background gives Julie a unique perspective on the big picture when it comes to health and wellness. The years spent teaching gives her strength in bringing the information to her clients in bite size pieces that are easy to digest.

Julie and I met completely by accident at the Hoover Dam three years ago. Julie and her family live in Nova Scotia.
