I have been sharing bits and pieces about this new venture that I have started. I am excited to share the new Learning For Life logo. Sometimes I wonder how I ended up being an elementary teacher because I do not like the typical things that are representative of elementary education. One example is primary colors. The original design of the logo was done in primary colors and I did not like it at all. I guess I have always marched to a beat of a different drummer. If you look at my career it definitely speaks to being quite different than the norm for most elementary teachers.
I wanted to tell you about what I have been working on. I have been planning a virtual event to officially launch Learning For Life. The event will feature wonderful speakers that are going to share their expertise and insights about education based on their specific area. The focus of the event is student success. How students are on different paths but as educators we have to ensure that they the achieve the ultimate goal of success. I will be talking with school leaders, teachers that are having success, researchers around the topics of: ELL — English Language Learners, school culture, the achievement gap, child nutrition and the brain to name a few. I want to start introducing the guests.
